High Availability

High availability features for VMs, including migration, rescue, and backup instances.

Migrate

Migrate a VM from one hypervisor host to another.

Supported only on the OneCloud platform.

Cold migration

Migrate a VM that is in the stopped state to another hypervisor host.

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Migrate”.
  2. Select the target hypervisor host (optional).
  3. Click the “OK” button.

Live migration

Migrate a VM that is in the running state to another hypervisor host without interrupting services.

Supported only on the OneCloud platform.

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Live migration”.
  2. Select the target hypervisor host (optional).
  3. Click the “OK” button.

V2V migration

Migrate a VMware VM to the OneCloud platform.

Supported only on the VMware platform.

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - V2V migration”.
  2. Select the target hypervisor host.
  3. Click the “OK” button.

Rescue mode

Put a VM into rescue mode to repair system failures.

Supported only for KVM VMs on the OneCloud platform.

Enter rescue mode

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Enter rescue mode”.
  2. Select a rescue image.
  3. Click the “OK” button.

Exit rescue mode

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Exit rescue mode”.
  2. Confirm the operation.

Backup instance

Create a backup instance for a VM to achieve high availability.

Supported only on the OneCloud platform.

Add a backup instance

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Add backup instance”.
  2. Select the hypervisor host for the backup instance.
  3. Click the “OK” button.

An HA icon icon appears next to the VM name.

Delete a backup instance

  1. Click the “More” button of a VM that has an HA icon icon next to its name, then choose “High availability - Delete backup instance”.
  2. Confirm the operation.

Quick recovery

Quickly restore a VM to a previous state.

Supported only on the OneCloud platform.

  1. On the VMs page, click the “More” button in the Actions column of the VM, then choose “High availability - Quick recovery”.
  2. Confirm the operation.
