The platform automatically creates Layer 2 networks and IP subnets. Mapping: <ul> <li>One vSwitch or Distributed vSwitch maps to one Layer 2 network;</li> <li>Contiguous IP ranges with the same VLAN under a Layer 2 network form one IP subnet;</li> </ul> </li> <li>After the account is added, if auto-created Layer 2 networks and IP subnets do not match your network design, merge wires and IP subnets based on the real VMware environment. Merging wires is irreversible; if misconfigured, delete the cloud account and add it again.</li> </ol> <h2 id="procedure">Procedure</h2> <ol> <li>On the Cloud Accounts page, click “Create” above the list.</li> <li>Select VMware, then click “Next: Configure cloud account”.</li> <li>Configure: <ul> <li>Name: VMware account name.</li> <li>vCenter address: vCenter server domain or IP.</li> <li>Port: default 443.</li> <li>Account: vCenter admin username.</li> <li>Password: vCenter admin password.</li> <li>Common parameters: see <a href="../../#common-configuration-parameters">Common configuration parameters</a>.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Click “Connection test” to verify parameters.</li> <li>After a successful test, click “Next: Scheduled sync (optional)” to configure scheduled sync.</li> <li>Click “OK” to create the VMware cloud account and related IP subnets and start syncing resources.</li> </ol> <blockquote> <p>If no resources appear after import, check whether a non-admin account was used.</p> </blockquote>
