Scheduler Tags

The scheduler tag is used to statically bind to a resource to enable scheduling of resources.

The scheduler tag is used to statically bind to a resource to enable scheduling of the resource. Administrators can create and statically bind tags for resources based on their usage scenarios and uses.

Entry: In the cloud management platform click on the top left corner of navigation menu, and click “Compute/Scheduling/Scheduler Tags” menu item in the left menu bar that pops up to enter the Scheduler Tags page.

Create scheduler tag

This function is used to create new scheduler tags for hosts, IP subnets and storage.

  1. Click the “Create” button at the top of the list to bring up the Create scheduler tag page.
  2. Configure the following parameters.
    • Name: Set the name of the scheduler tag, which is generally used to identify the purpose of the resources bound to the tag.
    • Preference: The default policy of the scheduler tag, including Try to use, Avoid, Prohibit, and None. Please note that you must use the default policy that cannot be set for the scheduler tag. If no scheduler policy is matched when creating a server and no preference for any scheduler tag is specified, the default policy takes effect.
      • Prefer: The default policy for resources bound to this type of scheduler tag is use as much as possible. This means that resources bound with such dispatch tags can be used as much as possible, or if they are not bound with such tags, they can be used.
      • Avoid: The default policy for resources with this type of dispatch tag is to avoid them. That is, try to avoid using resources bound with such dispatch tags, or use them if they have such tags.
      • Exclude: The default policy for resources with such dispatch tags is to exclude them. That is, the use of resources with such dispatch tags is prohibited.
      • None: The default policy for resources bound with this type of scheduler tag is none.
    • Resource type: Including host, storage, and network. Scheduling tags of different resource types are bound to different resources, such as scheduler tags of host type support binding to host resources, etc.
  3. Click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

Associated Resources

This function is used to bind tags to resources, and currently only the administrative backend supports this operation. The corresponding resource will be selected according to the resource type of the scheduler tag.

  1. On the Scheduled Tags page, click the Associate_Resources button in the Scheduled Tags action column to bring up the Associated Resources dialog box.
  2. Select the associated resource and click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

Set the application scope

This function is used to set the application scope of the scheduler tag.

When the application range is global, i.e. the scheduler tag is available globally. When the application range is the specified domain, the scheduler tag can be used by the administrative backend, the administrative backend of the specified domain, and all items under the specified domain. When the application scope is specified projects, the scheduling tab is available for the administrative backend, the administrative backend of the specified project’s domain, and the specified project.

  1. On the Scheduler tab page, click the More button in the Scheduler tab operation bar, and select the Set_Application_Scope menu item in the drop-down menu to bring up the Set Application Scope dialog box.
  2. Configure the following parameters.
    • When the application scope is global, i.e. the scheduling tab is available globally.
    • When the application scope is domain, you need to select the specified domain, i.e. the scheduling tab is available for the System View, the System View of the specified domain, and all projects under the specified domain.
    • When the application scope is project, you need to select the specified project, i.e. the scheduling tab is available for the administrative backend, the administrative backend of the specified project’s domain, and the specified project.
  3. Click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

Preference setting

This function is used to modify the default policy of the scheduling tab.

  1. On the Scheduling tab page, click the More button in the Scheduling tab action bar, and select the Preferences menu item in the drop-down menu to bring up the Preferences dialog box.
  2. Set the preferences for the scheduling tab and click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

Delete

This function is used to delete scheduler tags. Scheduling tags with bound hosts, associated dynamic scheduler tags and associated scheduler policies are not supported to be deleted. It supports individual deletion or batch deletion.

Delete

  1. On the scheduler tag page, click the More button in the operation column specified by the scheduler tag, and select the “Delete” menu item in the drop-down menu to bring up the operation confirmation dialog box.
  2. Click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

Batch Delete

  1. Select one or more scheduler tags in the scheduler tag list, and click the “Delete” button at the top of the page to bring up the operation confirmation dialog box.
  2. Click the “OK” button to complete the operation.

View scheduler tag details

This function is used to view the details of the scheduling tab.

  1. On the Dispatch Tag page, click the Dispatch Tag Name item to enter the Dispatch Tag Details page.
  2. View the Cloud ID, ID, name, status, domain, item, preference, resource type, resource number, associated dynamic scheduler tag (number), associated scheduler policy (number), created at, updated at, and description of the scheduler tag.

View information about resources bound by scheduler tags

This function is used to view the information of the resources bound by the scheduler tag.

  • Baremetal Hosts: On the scheduler tag details page of the host and baremetal hosts resource type, click the “Baremetal Hosts” tab to enter the baremetal hosts page to view the information of physical machines bound by the scheduler tag.
