Suggestions
Suggestions list displays a list of all resources that match the optimization suggestion rules. The resources in the suggestion list are all wasted to some extent, and from the perspective of cost saving, the user is required to process the resources that match the rules, etc.
Entry: In the cloud management platform click on the top left corner navigation menu, and click “Optimization/Cost Optimization/Suggestions” menu item in the left menu bar that pops up to enter the results page.
Handle
This function is used to process the resources scanned by the matching rules according to the optimization suggestions.
- On the suggestion list page, click the “Handle” button in the action bar to the right of the resource to bring up the processing dialog.
- Please process the resource according to the optimization suggestion or ignore the processing of the resource.
- The recommended optimization suggestions differ depending on the conditions of the rule.
- Resources of rule types such as Underutilized OSS, Underutilized RDS, Underutilized Redis, unmounted EIP, Unmounted Disk, Unused snapshot, and Unused LB have wasted resources, and it is recommended to delete the corresponding resources.
- Lowload Server: This type of servers are recommended to be deleted or reduced in configuration, and currently only delete operations are supported in the processing operation. Users can adjust the configuration in the server list according to their needs.
- Up-size server configuration: This type of server has too high CPU usage, etc. and it is recommended to adjust the configuration upwards.
- Down-size server configuration: This type of server has low CPU utilization, and there is a waste of resources, so it is recommended to downward allocate.
- Replace server with auto-scaling group: This type of server has the characteristics of periodic or timed scaling, etc. It is recommended to use elastic scaling group for elastic expansion or scaling down, etc.
- Timed start/stop server: This type of server is used for a fixed period of time, and it is recommended that it be automatically switched on and off.
- Obsolete instance types: This type of server has been using obsolete instance types and it is recommended to upgrade the instance type of the server to improve performance.
Batch Ignore
When a resource does not require user processing, you can use the ignore feature to ignore optimization suggestions for a resource. The ignored resource will be displayed in the ignore list.
Note
Ignoring a resource is only relevant for the user’s current view.
- If the user ignores the resource in the administrative backend view, the resource belongs to the system in the ignore list, i.e. the resource is ignored only in the administrative backend view, and it can still be viewed in the suggestion list in other views.
- If the user ignores the resource in the domain admin backend view, the resource belongs to the specified domain in the ignore list, i.e. the resource is ignored only in the specified domain admin backend view, and the resource is still available in the suggestion list in other views.
- If the user ignores the resource in the project view, the resource belongs to the specified project in the ignore list, i.e. the resource is ignored only in the specified project view, and can still be seen in the suggestions list in other views.
- Select one or more resources in the suggestion list and click the “Ignore” button at the top of the list to bring up the action confirmation dialog.
- Click the “OK” button to batch add the resource to the ignore list.
Ignore this type of suggestion
When a resource of a certain type does not need to be processed, you can use the Ignore suggestions of this type feature to ignore optimization suggestions for resources of a certain rule type, i.e. all resources matching the rules of this type will no longer be displayed in the suggestion list. The ignored rule types will be displayed in the ignore list.
Note
The ignore rule type suggestion is only relevant for the user’s current view.

- If the user ignores this type of suggestion in the domain admin backend view, the rule type belongs to the specified domain in the ignore list, i.e. it is ignored only in the specified domain admin backend view, and the resources of this rule type can still be viewed in the suggestion list in other views.
- If the user ignores this type of suggestion in the project view, the scope of the rule type in the ignore list is the specified project, i.e. this type of suggestion is ignored only in the specified project view, and the resources of this rule type can still be viewed in the suggestion list in other views.
- On the suggestion list page, click the “Ignore this type of suggestion” button in the action column to the right of the resource to bring up the action confirmation dialog.
